MINUTES OF CRYSTAL BADMINTON CLUB

MONDAY 8^TH MAY2006

Present:    Pete , Paul , Chris Rudd, Melanie, Colin, Chris Beavon, &  Geoff

·    New Members: 

        Recruitment drive required. 

        Pete producing posters/flyers to put in leaflet racks at Crystal and Stourbridge Library. 

        Chris R to query with Crystal what happened to notice board which disappeared when

        refurbishment took place.  Alternatively to look at cost of siting new board.

        Any young players if good enough are to be encouraged to join. 

        Nicky Giles will be returning. 

        Nikini Jayatunga will be attending Oxford University keep on as registered player. 

 ·    Annual General Meeting:  

        Set for Friday 21Jul2006 – time & place to be agreed.

        Followed by a curry.

·    Match Secretary:      

        Melanie to take over from Colin as match secretary initially for 1-year term only

·    Committee Members:

        Need more Committee members, particularly Secretary.

·    Cradley League Presentation Evening:       

        Friday 19May2006 – tickets £5.00 members/£11 partners.

        Chris R to organise raffle prize.

·    Division 1 – Use of feathers:         

        League has requested debate around ruling to use feathers for Div. 1 matches.  

        Crystal happy to use feathers unless cost becomes too high & consider implications for

        less well off clubs.
